Commissioned by the Irish Whale & Dolphin Group (IWDG) to tell some of their stories during 2019, a fellow got to go walkabout .

There were stories of whales and dolphins;  of struggle and neglect . Death too .

And of people of the sea; as summer ended I found myself in Kilkee, Clare. The small coastal town is on the Western seaboard of Europe. I was there to catch up with longstanding IWDG member Dixie Collins

Wondrous, Dixie is of the sea . He grew up in Clare . His 'stock' are there . Clare people tend to be resourceful and resilient . They have had to be . Dixie is .

In the fading light of a gentle August evening, we sat on cliffs unimagined . I wondered how I had never been here before . 'Moher' et al are lauded . Get yourself toπŸšΆβ€β™€οΈ Kilkee πŸšΆβ€β™‚️

Dixie proved a natural storyteller . A gentle human . Brimming with essence . And a quiet hope that all will be okay .
